Creating a user
Create users within the top level Security folder or any folders within this folder.
Procedure
- Select the relevant folder and click the Security browse tree menu.
This menu is context sensitive.
- Select
New user.
- In the dialog box that opens, enter the user details.
Any mandatory fields are marked with an *.
- If you want to select a different user culture to the default applied by the system administrator, select a location from the
Culture field's drop-down list.
User culture governs the way Date and Numeric format fields are displayed to the User. All fields display the numeric value or date according to the selected User culture. Note that if the user culture German (Germany) or French (France) is selected, the User Interface language will be German or French for these users.
For example, when the User culture is English (United Kingdom), the date field values display as dd/mm/yyyy:
Whereas when the User culture is English (United States), the same field values display as m/d/yyyy:
Note: |
The format of a numeric field or date when that data is exported matches that of the Campaign Manager user's User Culture. This is defined in the Windows Control Panel Clock, Language and Region settings (the
Short date field at the time of writing, see Microsoft's Windows online help for further details). So when the date stored in Campaign Manager is exported using either a Campaign File Tactic or via an Export Tool in a segment document, the following table shows how it would be exported, using examples of formats for the UK, the US and the Caribbean: |

- Click
Next.
The User Logon is now created. These are the first Logon credentials being created for this User.
- Select one of the following options to create new logons:
- Enter a Logon name and password details. Note you are creating a new Logon that can be applied to the User just created.
- Enter the application user's domain\windows userid for Windows authentication usage.
- Click
Next to use an existing Logon for the User. The list displays all Logons currently on the system, but some may already be associated with a User. Note that a User can have multiple Logons associated with them, but a Logon can only be associated with one User. Adding a Logon already associated with a User will add that Logon to this User and remove the current association.
- Click
Next.
When the Logon details have been created, if you click
Cancel on this screen, the Logon is not removed from the database.
- Select the Logon(s) for the user.
- Click
Create.
Note: |
Logon management is a wider subject and can also be managed at a Client or Multi-Client level. Logons can also be created from the
Logon Management tab of the
Settings. |
